**UPDATE 7:27 a.m. This is a double fatal fire of an elderly couple.**
Authorities in Berkeley Heights are investigating an overnight fire that sent several people to the hospital.
Firefighters were called to the 100 block of Orion Road at around 1 a.m. after receiving calls for a fire inside a house with trapped occupants.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from the home with at least three occupants trapped inside.
Firefighters were able to make an entry where they found several injured victims inside the one in a half story home.
The injured were transported to Overlook Hospital in Summit with at least one of the victims suffering serious injuries.
Reports said the house was occupied by an elderly couple and a caretaker.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about an hour.
Berkeley Heights received mutual assistance from Chatham, Watchung, and New Providence among others.
