New Jersey State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist late Monday night on Interstate 78 in Union Township, Hunterdon County.
Shortly before midnight, troopers responded to reports of a crash with injuries on the eastbound side of I-78 near exit 12.
Officers arrived and found a severely damaged motorcycle, with the rider ejected onto the roadway. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
The investigation remains active as troopers work to determine the events that led to the tragic accident.
