NJ State Police officials are looking into the cause of a crash that temporarily closed a portion of a highway in Newark.
According to officials, the multi-vehicle crash happened at approximately 5 a.m. in the westbound side of I-280 near exit 12 where the collision blocked all lanes of the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and assisted an injured occupant of one of the vehicles, but there were no severe injuries according to NJ State Police. The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment.
Officials say the highway was reopened by 6 a.m.
