Newark residents are waking up to a humid and sticky start to the day. The National Weather Service forecasts a chance of rain as we look ahead to the weekend.Following yesterday's gloomy weather, today isn't expected to be much better. There will be lingering humidity and the possibility of showers.
While some showers attempt to move in from Warren County, not much precipitation is expected to reach the ground.
However, the humid and sticky conditions will persist throughout the day, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Highs will reach nearly 84 degrees, with a southwest wind of 6 to 8 mph.
Tonight, the weather is expected to improve slightly, with partly cloudy skies and a low of around 66 degrees.
These conditions set the stage for a beautiful Labor Day weekend and promise more pleasant weather ahead.
