Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 57-year-old man on Van Nostrand Avenue in Jersey City.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, on Wednesday, February 9, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a 911 call from an individual who located the man inside a home at 88 Van Nostrand Avenue.
Prosecutor Suarez said that the responding officers found the lifeless body of a 57-year-old man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, at approximately 4:39 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department requested that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit assist in the investigation.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
