There were no injuries reported in a shots-fired incident that occurred on a Newark South Ward neighborhood on Thursday morning.
According to Newark Police officials, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of possible gunfire in the vicinity of 245-251 Madison Avenue at approximately 1 a.m.
When units arrived at the scene, they canvassed the residential neighborhood for possible victims, but there were no injuries reported.
Police recovered several shell casings after an unidentified gunman arrived in the area and fired shots that struck a house multiple times at that location.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and the suspect is at-large.
