Fire officials in the Bergen County town of Allendale are investigating a fire that destroyed a house in the city early this morning.
The three-alarm fire that ignited inside a house at 127 Crescent Place had firefighters on the scene where they began battling a fully involved blaze inside a two-story home at around 3 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters initiated a defensive attack upon arrival due to deteriorating fire conditions.
All occupants of the home were evacuated safely.
Dozens of firefighters fought through extreme cold temperatures, and some water problems in the area reports said.
What remained of the severely damaged house, was reduced to rubble about 30 minutes into the fire.
Mutual assistance was provided from Wyckoff, Ramsey, Saddle River, HoHoKus, Waldwick, Franklin Lakes and Midland Park.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries reported.
