The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that injured a male in a section of Paterson Sunday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 4:40 a.m., officials at St. Joseph's Hospital notified Paterson Police when a gunshot victim entered the emergency department.
When officers arrived, they were informed by the victim that gunfire rang out in the area of east 18th and Governor streets.
Authorities sent officers to the area to canvas for evidence and possible additional victims.
The motive for the shooting is under an active and ongoing investigation.
