An overnight filled with armed robbery reports that kept Newark Police officers busy in every precinct in the city, culminated with an armed robbery of several customers at a Newark eatery.
Reports of an armed robbery in progress sent several police units to the "Royal Fried Chicken" restaurant located at intersection of Bergen Street and South Orange Avenue at around 3 a.m. where cops located nearly a dozen people who told them that they were robbed at gunpoint by two black male suspect who were armed with guns.
According to reports, the victims enter the establishment with guns drawn and took the victims wallets and pocketbooks that were filled with cash, keys, and other personal belongings before they fled the scene in a vehicle.
A University Hospital nurse who was reportedly on lunch break and out to purchase food was among the victims reports said.
A vehicle fitting the description of the vehicle used in multiple armed robberies (including the chicken shack robbery) was found set on fire on St. Pauls Avenue in the city's West Ward.
Several male occupants were seen exiting the vehicle and entering a waiting vehicle according to reports.
Cops in the city's East Ward are also investigating armed robberies of customers at the Dominoes Pizzeria establishment located in the 50's block of Niagra Street that occurred early this morning.
Suspects who were reportedly armed with weapons demanded personal possessions from at least two victims at that location.
East Ward victims were located on Hensler Street near Wall Street and Paterson Street near Alyea Street reports said.
The wanted suspects are responsible for both set of robberies.
There were no physical injuries immediately reported.
