Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the fatal shooting of Najee Broadway, 18, of Newark.
According to authorities, at approximately 8:30 a.m., today, Broadway was fatally shot in the 600 block of Irvine Turner Blvd.
Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 8:32 am.
The homicide investigation is active and ongoing.
Authorities said at this stage in the investigation, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been.
