Firefighters in New Milford battled a raging 4-alarm fire that engulfed a several apartments in a townhouse structure in the city on Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, fire broke out on the deck at 12 Canterbury Lane sending firefighters to the scene at around 11:30 a.m.
Crews arrived and noticed the deck fully involved with flames that extended to the interior of the home.
Officials say heavy fire destroyed three apartments in the townhouse and damaged two others as multiple Bergen County fire companies assisted.
Officials say a homeowner suffered burns to the hands and one firefighter suffered minor injures.
The cause is under investigation
