A suspect responsible for a burglary was scared away by a homeowner after the suspect reportedly entered a home last night in Montclair.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened in the area of Upper Mountain Avenue and Berkeley Place at around 8:30 p.m. where police were called to the scene for a burglary in progress.
Upon officer's arrival to the scene, a resident reported to authorities that shortly before they arrived, a white male suspect who was last observed wearing a gray hoodie and a black mask entered the residence and began to make his way through the home.
When confronted by the homeowner, the suspect reported fled from the home, making his way through several yards in the neighborhoods according to reports.
Police searched the area but it is not immediately clear if the suspect was apprehended.
The incident remains under investigation.
