Customers who bought ground beef on Friday from the Hillside Shop Rite on Route 22 can return it for a refund or replacement after the store recalled the meat citing possible metal fragment that may have fallen into it.
According to a press release, company officials stated that a mechanical issue with a grinder may have caused scraps of metal to fall off into several batches of the meat.
Ground beef with a sell date of May 13 with size packages 80, 85, and 93 percent lean as well as family-size packages has been pulled from the shelves.
There were no injuries reported to the company at this time.
