Police apprehended a man after a brief pursuit that ended in a crash in Newark late last night.
Cops attempted to pull over the vehicle shortly before 11:25 p.m. on a routine traffic stop at a North Broad Street location when the driver of the vehicle sped.
Units at a safe distance, followed the vehicle when it in entered the Newark border traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle lost control near the intersection of Elizabeth Ave. and Chancellor Ave. where it crashed at that location.
The driver was immediately placed into custody and transported back to Hillside Police Headquarters.
There were no injuries reported.
