A high speed pursuit that originated in Hillside, ended in a crash overnight in Newark
Hillside Police attempted to pull over a vehicle that refused to stop for several traffic violations near Maple Avenue at around 1:15 a.m. according to reports.
The suspected vehicle raced through Hillside at a high rate of speed ultimately making its way into Newark's South Ward where the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Chancellor Avenue and Summit Street.
A male suspect bailed from the vehicle and led police on a foot pursuit in the area where he was able to escape capture.
Police are looking for a black male who was last seen wearing all red clothing and dreads.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
