Authorities in Hillside are searching for suspects involved in two armed robberies that occurred within minutes of each other on Sunday evening, November 24.
According to a statement released by Hillside Police Department officials, both incidents targeted gas stations along Route 22 West.
The first robbery took place shortly after 6 p.m. at the Express Fuel gas station.
Police say at least three individuals approached the station, with one suspect brandishing a firearm while stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.
Immediately following the Express Fuel robbery, the same suspects targeted the Sunoco gas station further along Route 22 West.
Similarly, they held the attendant at gunpoint and took an undetermined sum of money.
Fortunately, neither gas station attendant was injured during the incidents.
Hillside police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing as they work to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible.
The unoccupied vehicle was found in Newark’s South Ward several hours later.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the robberies to contact the Hillside Police Department as they continue their efforts to ensure public safety.
