Flash flood warnings issued for this afternoon immediately began causing road closures.
In Mountainside, a group of lifeguards were captured, crossing the Mountainside Pool parking lot after rained caused flooding in the area.
Flooding was also reported in areas of Scotch Plains and Plainfield.
