The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for the Passaic River and other North Jersey waterways, signaling continued concerns for communities from Little Falls to Paterson. These areas have been particularly hard hit, with water rescues ongoing as the Passaic River floods again, causing significant disruption in Paterson for the second time in recent weeks.
Governor Murphy is scheduled to visit these affected areas at around 1 p.m. today to assess the damage.
The region's weather outlook, as provided by the National Weather Service, predicts rain mainly before 7 a.m., with temperatures peaking near 55 degrees by 8 a.m. before falling to around 39 degrees for the rest of the day.
Conditions will remain breezy, with a west wind blowing at 16 to 25 mph and gusts reaching as high as 39 mph. The chance of precipitation stands at 80%, with new rainfall amounts expected to be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Residents are advised to stay alert and cautious, especially in areas prone to flooding.
