Firefighters are investgiating a fire that destroyed a commercial business early Sunday morning in Newark.
According to fire officials, heavy fire ripped through an auto body shop located at Avon Avenue and South 20th Street at just before 1 a.m. sending firefighter to the scene where they arrived to find ripping through the roof of the single-story business.
Newark firefighters began an exterior attack of the blaze while forced entry into the structure where they found several vehicles inside but after a search of the autobody shop, they found no trapped or injured occupants.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control n just over an hour.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
