Newark

Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a mild but damp Sunday morning, with temperatures hovering at 49 degrees. If you're heading out early for first service at your house of worship, be sure to bring an umbrella—rain is expected later in the day, and fog may make for a tricky morning drive.

According to the National Weather Service, the day will remain cloudy with a chance of showers developing between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., followed by steadier rain in the evening.

Areas of morning fog will clear, but conditions will remain damp. Temperatures will climb to a high of 65 degrees.

Tonight, the rain will intensify, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Winds will pick up, reaching speeds of 10 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

The overnight low will settle around 54 degrees.

With a rainy evening ahead, residents should plan accordingly and drive cautiously. Stay dry and have a great Sunday!
