Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a cold but far less brutal morning as winds have eased, making the frigid air feel more bearable. If you’re heading out for the first Sunday service at your place of worship, you should still bundle up, but temperatures will gradually rise, making the afternoon much more comfortable afternoon.
Currently, downtown Newark sits below freezing at 30 degrees with partly cloudy skies.
With a light breeze, it feels like 23 degrees—still chilly but a significant improvement from the past few days when temperatures plunged into the teens and single digits.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 44 degrees and a west wind at 3 to 8 mph.
Tonight, skies will become mostly cloudy, with a low of around 31 degrees.
For those enjoying today's slight warm-up, there’s even better news ahead—temperatures are set to climb into the 50s tomorrow, offering a much-needed break from the deep freeze.
Have a great Sunday, everyone!
