Harrington Park

Authorities are investigating the cause of a crash that left an 8-year-old girl and a woman in critical condition Wednesday evening in Harrington Park.

Officials say police responded to Old Hook Road west of Schraalenburgh Road just before 7 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a crash.

Upon arrival, officers say the driver of a 2016 Honda Odyssey, a Norwood woman, was traveling east and crossed over the double yellow line on the road and hit a 2016 Toyota Highlander head-on.

Police say the Norwood woman and an 8-year-old girl, who was ejected from the car, were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center where they were in critical condition.

Police added that the driver of the Toyota, a 74-year-old Englewood man, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
