A suspicious package delivered to a Summit residence caused a building to be evacuated and road closures while police investigated.
Police responded to the 475 Springfield Avenue at approximately 3:42 p.m. for a suspicious package delivered to that residence.
The package which contained a white powder as its contents activated a full response from a Union County Office of Emergency Management Hazmat Team (UCOEM).
The building and roadway was closed until Hazmat and Summit Fire Department deemed the powder non-hazardous.
