Haledon Firearms Instructor Injured in Accidental Discharge at Passaic County Police Academy

A firearms instructor from the Haledon Police Department sustained an accidental discharge injury while attending advanced firearms training at the Passaic County Police Academy Shooting Range, according to Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele.

The instructor is currently being treated at St. Joseph's University Trauma Center, where he is reported to be in serious but stable condition.AdThe Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Shooting Response Team is reviewing the incident, as per standard protocol.

Chief Daniele expressed his well-wishes for the officer’s speedy recovery, stating, "We extend our unwavering support during this difficult time." He also thanked the community for their outpouring of love and support.

No further comments will be made regarding the incident, and inquiries are directed to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
