Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Tadd D. Mitchell, Jr., 32, of Hackensack, on a drug charge.
During December 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Mitchell was involved in the distribution of cocaine in the Bergen County area. As a result of the information received, a criminal narcotics investigation was initiated.
According to authorities on Dec. 15th, an investigative motor vehicle stop was conducted on Mitchell, who was operating a Honda Accord in Paramus. A search of the vehicle revealed a hidden compartment containing approximately two hundred grams of suspected cocaine.
Police arrested Mitchell without incident, and transported him to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for arrest processing.
The Honda Accord was seized pending forfeiture proceedings.
The approximate street value of the cocaine seized on this date is $10,000.00.
Officials charged Mitchell with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine in a Quantity Greater than Five Ounces and remanded him to the Bergen County Jail pending a Central Judicial Processing Court appearance.
Authorities state that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
