A man was hospitalized late Sunday evening after being shot in a Trenton neighborhood, sparking a police investigation into the incident.
Gunfire was reported around 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Turpin Street and Federal Street.
Responding officers discovered a male victim with a bullet wound to his back.
According to preliminary reports, an unidentified gunman approached the victim and opened fire. Police swiftly cordoned off the area and initiated a thorough search for additional victims or witnesses.
Police say no other injuries were reported.
Detectives are actively combing through evidence gathered at the scene as part of their ongoing investigation.
The motive behind the shooting has yet to be determined, and the suspect is currently at large.
Trenton Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
