Newark Police are investigating a shooting incident in a section of the South Ward on Tuesday night.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 800 block of South 18th Street aroundn10 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found a person suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
EMs transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment; their condition has not been confirmed.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no suspect has been arrested at this time.
