Somerset County authorities are investigating the motive for a shooting that injured a male in Franklin Township Saturday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, officials at St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick notified police of a gunshot victim who entered the emergency room shortly before 11:25 p.m.
Officers arrived at the hospital and were advised that the shooting happened in the vicinity of Somerset Street and Franklin Boulevard.
The victim's injuries were not reported as fatal at this time.
Police reported no arrests.
