Authorities in Jersey City have confirmed the location of a shooting that caused injuries to one person at location in the city Sunday night.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 531 Garfield Avenue at around 11:20 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a blood trail but after a search, no victim was found.
According to authorities, officials at Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering bullet injuries in his leg.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. There were no other injuries reported.
