Gunpoint Robbery of Newark Mini-Market has Police Searching for Three Suspects

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying three suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred last night.

Police said at approximately 9:35 p.m., police responded to Abdul Mini-Mart, located at 856 South Orange Avenue, on a robbery call.

Two black males entered the store and robbed the employees of cash at gunpoint. The first suspect is described as 6’1” tall. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

Police said the second suspect is described as 5’6” tall and wore a light blue hoodie. The third suspect is a black male who was seen running with the two suspects near South Orange Avenue and Arsdale Place following the robbery.

Authorities said the handgun used by the suspects was recovered inside the mini-market by police.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets.

This investigation is continuing.
