An early Thursday morning armed carjacking that occurred in Newark's North Ward has police investigating.
Police responded to reports of a carjacking in progress that occurred on Summer Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m.
According to the victim, two black male suspects were armed with a gun when they took a black 2013 Nissan Altima.
The vehicle was last observed driving at a high rate of speed on South 20th Street and accompanied by a red Dodge Charger.
There were no injuries reported.
