An early morning armed carjacking that was reported in Newark has authorities investigating.
Police were called to the 20's block of Branford Place before 7 am after receiving reports of a carjacking in progress.
Upon arrival to the scene, the victim told police that two black male suspects pointed a weapon and took a white Chevy Malibu.
The suspects fled the scene and were last observed in an unidentified location in the city's South Ward reports said.
There were no physical injuries reported.
