East Orange Police are investigating g a shots-fired incident that occurred near a park in the city Saturday.
According to preliminary reports, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of gunfire in the 100 block of Eaton Place near East Orange Oval Park shortly before 5:13 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after searching the scene, there were no injuries reported.
Police believe that the suspects were occupying a vehicle when they fired the shots in the community that borders the NJ Transit Morris Essex Train tracks, but it is not clear who the perpetrators were targeting.
The suspects remain at-large.
