Police reported no injuries after officers checked two crime scenes where shooters fired at potential victims in a section of Newark's South Ward Friday night.
A ShotSpotter device alerted Newark officers of a shooting in the area of Aldine and Goldsmith Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m.
Police rushed to the neighborhood and were told by witnesses that suspects occupying a white vehicle (possibly a BMW X5) pulled up in the area and repeatedly fired.
The assailants then drove several blocks away and continued their shooting rampage.
Police recovered a vehicle struck by bullets, but no one was inside the shot-up car.
Newark Police reported no arrests.
