Gunman Shoots at Tow Truck Driver in Irvington

Police officials in Irvington are looking for a gunman who fired shots at a tow truck operator in the Township on Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, a lone masked gunman approached the operator in the area of Lyons and Coit Street and began to shoot at the MTS Towing employee as he was towing a car before 3 p.m.

Police said the suspect sped away from the scene in a dark Chevy Malibu, but the towing operator was not injured in this incident.

Authorities believe that the incident is connected to a shooting that left the same operator suffering a gunshot wound to the chest in Newark some time ago.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Irvington Police Detective Division.

Newark police have also launched an investigation and they are searching for the suspect involved in the shooting of the tow operator that occurred in the city.
