Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting in the West Ward Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of 18th Avenue near Alexander Street.
Several officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering a bullet wound in his head and leg.
He was transported to University Hospital for treatment and remains in serious but stable condition.
Police are investigating the circumstances behind the shooting while looking for the responsible suspect.
