An early morning robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Maplewood is under investigation by police.
Cops responded to reports of an armed robbery in progress at the store that's located in the 700 block of Irvington Avenue at around 4 a.m. according to reports.
Police arrived to the scene where store employees reported to them that a black male suspect entered the store armed with a gun and demanded cash from the register.
The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash before running from the store reports said.
He is described as a black male who was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, tan boots, and a white hat.
Police believe that the suspect entered a waiting vehicle.
There were no physical injuries immediately reported.
