Newark Police are actively searching for suspects involved in an early Monday morning shooting incident in the city’s North Ward.The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue, where a ShotSpotter device detected gunfire, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
Before officers reached the location, a potential victim entered the local precinct, reporting that shots had been fired at them while they were walking along Bloomfield Avenue.
The individual stated that suspects in a vehicle had repeatedly fired at them before speeding away from the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found multiple parked cars struck by bullets, although no injuries were reported.
Authorities are continuing the investigation, and the suspects remain at large.
