Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in Newark Wednesday evening.
It happened just before 7:55 p.m. in the vicinity of 739 South 10th Street.
According to police, a ShotSpotter device registered over 18 rounds of gunfire in the community, prompting a police investigation.
Units arrived and found shell casings, then placed hospitals on alert for potential walking gunshot victims in the region.
A search of the community indicated no victims, but crime scene units were requested to assist in the investigation.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
