EMS transported two victims to the hospital after multiple rounds of gunfire rang out in an Elizabeth neighborhood during the overnight hours.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to the vicinity of Elizabeth Avenue and 5th Street after they received reports of shots fired shortly before 10 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found two victims suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Officers taped off the area where they began a search for additional victims and possible suspects responsible for the shooting.
The extent of the victims’ injuries were only reported as non-fatal.
A male suspect -who wore a mask- arrived in the area and repeatedly fired shots in the direction of the victims.
Police are investigating the motive for the shooting.
