Paterson Police are on the search for a suspect who fired multiple airline carriers rounds at two victims in a section of the city that caused injuries Thursday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, a ShotSpotter device activated after about a dozen rounds of gunfire was detected in the 40's block of 12th Avenue around 10 p.m.
Police arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a gunshot injury in his leg.
Police say while EMS prepared the victim for transport to the hospital, officials at St. Joseph's Medical Center alerted authorities of a gunshot victim who entered the emergency department.
The walk-in shooting victim reported to police that he suffered his injury on 12th Avenue.
According to police, the victim fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation into the double shooting.
