Authorities in Mercer County are investigating a shooting that resulted in deadly injuries to one person in Trenton Sunday morning.
In a preliminary investigation, Trenton police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 818 Stuyvesant Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m.
Police and EMS units arrived and found an unidentified person suffering multiple bullet wounds at that location.
Trenton Police officials said The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office was notified when medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
