Authorities in Newark are investigating a shooting that left a man dead according to a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal shooting.
Authorities said, yesterday, Travis Swepson, 25, of Newark was found dead in the passenger seat of a car in the vicinity of Concord Street and Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark suffering from a gunshot wound.
Swepson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
Authorities said, this time no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
