Newark Police officials have launched an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Friday evening in the West Ward, leaving a male victim injured.
Newark authorities said at around 6:14 p.m., Newark Police received a call reporting a shooting incident in the 200 block of South 6th Street.
Responding swiftly to the call, officers arrived at the scene and discovered a man who had suffered a gunshot wound.
The injured was promptly provided with medical attention, and he was subsequently transported to University Hospital for further treatment.
Fortunately, the victim is reported to be in stable condition, officials said.
