Police in Newark's West Ward are on the search for a suspect wanted for an early morning shooting in that section of the city.
According to police, residents dialed 911 when they heard several loud popping noises that erupted in the 70's block of Richelieu Terrace before 4:45 a.m.
Officers arrived and found several shell casings, but after they searched the area, no victims were found according to reports.
Residents say they heard a vehicle speed from the area immediately after the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation.
