Monday night in Newark's Lower West Ward, the sound of gunfire prompted a quick police response.
Around 10:40 p.m., Newark Police officials were called to the area of 387 West Market Street following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered clear evidence that shots had been fired.
However, an extensive search of the scene revealed no victims. To assist with the investigation, Newark's Shooting Response Team was dispatched to the location, combing the area for clues and potential leads.
As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made.
