Police in Irvington Township and Newark are looking into an overnight shooting that occurred on the border of both municipalities.
According to preliminary reports, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police to the vicinity of 382 21st Street at approximately 1 a.m.
Irvington Police Units arrived at the scene and found shell casings, but there were no reports of injuries form either police department.
A black male suspect was observed running from the scene then entered a vehicle that left the scene according to reports.
The investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing.
