There were no injuries reported in a shots fired incident that occurred at a housing complex in Newark's Central Ward Friday evening.
Gunfire erupted in the vicinity of Jeliff and Avon avenues just before 5 p.m. sending police to the scene where officers canvassing the housing complex found multiple shell casings at that location.
Police taped off the area to search for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
