There is an active and ongoing investigation into a shots fired incident that occurred on a street in Newark's South Ward on Wednesday night.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the 200 block of Clinton Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. sending police to the scene where officers canvassed the scene and found more than a half dozen shell casings at that location.
There were no injuries reported after officers searched the area around the crime scene.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
