Elizabeth Police officials reported one person injured in a shots-fired incident that erupted outside a school Friday morning.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired about a block away from the George Washington Academy School, on the Court and Third streets side of the building, before 11:50 a.m.
Police arrived at the scene and found evidence that a shooting had occurred, but after searching the area, one victim was located and is in stable condition Elizabeth Police said.
The suspect fled the scene and no arrests have been reported.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
